Chiang Rai Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Chiang Rai by flight & Transfer from the airport to the reserved hotel.
Visit “BAAN DAM MUSEUM”: Daily-Half day 13:30/17:00 with English speaking guide)
Departure from the hotel for a curious visit to the “Black House of Chiang Rai, a house-museum that was built by the renowned Thai architect Thawan Duchanee.
The construction is made up of a main house (known as Casa Negra) and different constructions with gardens and decorated with all kinds of finishes, details (jewelry, bones and skins) and surrounded by sculptures with different shapes, recreating the whole of the personal vision of the artist. Back to the hotel. Rest of the day free to explore on own.
Day 2
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast, first stop to visit Wat Rong Khun also known as the "White Temple", the work of local artist and designer Chalermchai Kositpipat, who started the project in 1997. We will also visit Wat Rong Suean Ten, known as the " Blue Temple” or “Temple of the Dancing Tiger”: this new Buddhist sanctuary has as its characteristic element the play of colors between blue and yellow, which decorates the entire building and the white color that decorates the main figures of Buddha found in its inside. At mid-morning we will visit the famous golden triangle, a meeting point for the countries of Laos, Burma and Thailand, but the local people know this place as “Sop Ruak”. From the top of a hill you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Mekong River and the Ruak River, its tributary, which geometrically divides the border between the three countries, the famous triangular shape. Departure from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai by road (3 hours) and in the afternoon, visit the best-known temple in the city, Wat Doi Suthep, located on top of a small hill 15 km to the northwest. In this temple, the most sacred in the north, in the afternoon you can listen to the chants of the monks. Transfer and check-in at the hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel.
The unjust exploitation of elephants has contributed for years to animal abuse; For this reason, "elephant sanctuaries" have been created, where they enjoy an excellent quality of life and the necessary care. Havens of peace that, in turn, perpetuate the species.We leave early, by road and through a scenic landscape, towards an eco-sustainable conservation project for these animals. We will learn about their particular stories and we will have the opportunity to feed them, under the supervision of the staff. We complete the visit in an orchid plantation, a crop very introduced in Thai culture, whose interior contains a butterfly garden with unusual species. We go to the handicraft production centers of Sankampaeng and Borsang, to enjoy wood art, handmade umbrellas, woven silks, silversmiths and jewelers, ceramics, lacquerware and endless handicrafts. Let's not forget that quality craftsmanship requires time, talent and creativity. Day 4
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free time to enjoy this wonderful city, until the time of transfer to the Chiang Mai airport and departure on the flight to your Next destination.
